ASTM E2807 Standard 3D Data Exchange

Standardized Definition

ASTM E2807 is the internationally accepted standard specification for 3D image data exchange (.E57 format). It enables high-density point clouds, 3D coordinates, color intensity attributes, and panoramic camera imagery captured by terrestrial scanners (such as Matterport Pro3) to be transferred seamlessly into CAD, BIM, and GIS software without data corruption.

Applicable Standards

  • ASTM E2807-11 Standard
  • E57 File Format Spec

Industry Applications & Use Cases

  • Vendor-Neutral 3D Point Cloud Archiving
  • Seamless Data Transfer Between LiDAR Scanners and CAD/BIM
  • Preservation of Color & Spatial Coordinate Integrity
