A 3D Point Cloud is a vendor-neutral spatial dataset consisting of millions of individual measurement points captured in 3D space by LiDAR laser scanners (such as Matterport Pro3). Stored in the ASTM E2807 standard .E57 format or Autodesk .RCS format, point clouds serve as the sub-centimeter foundation for Scan-to-CAD drawings (.DWG) and Scan-to-BIM parametric models (.RVT).
